Meet Pavlina & Daniel from YucanGo Tours Mérida, Yucatán
We’re a couple who met in Mérida, and together we started Yucango to share our love for Yucatán in a way we wish it had been shown to us.
Daniel is originally from Mexico City but has lived in Yucatán with his family for almost 25 years and has years of experience in tourism, from guiding travelers through the region to working behind the scenes in a large international travel agency—but he always missed the personal touch. I (Pavlina) come from a tech background, with a degree in computer science, but my real passion lies in exploring the world—I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and know how a well-planned trip can make all the difference. In 2021 I became a resident in Mexico and decided to make Yucatán my new home.
Combining Daniel’s people skills and insider knowledge with my planning obsession, we created Yucango to offer personalized, thoughtful, and stress-free tours. We know the local tourism scene can sometimes feel impersonal, so we set out to do things differently: more care, more flexibility, and more unforgettable experiences.
Why We Do Custom Tours & How It Works
We believe a private tour should truly feel personal. Too often, even private tours stick rigidly to a fixed itinerary, leaving little room for changes or individual preferences. At Yucango, we do things differently. We focus exclusively on small, private groups, which allows us to explore more remote or lesser-known spots and design every trip from scratch—while keeping the flexibility to adjust based on your interests.
To help spark ideas, we’ve included some basic itineraries on our website for inspiration. But the main goal is always to create a trip that fits you perfectly. The best way to start planning is by reaching out via WhatsApp, where we can chat directly about what excites you. From there, we craft a personalized model itinerary, refine it together until you’re happy, and then Daniel leads the tour with his mastery of customer service—sometimes with me joining to ensure everything runs smoothly. This way, we combine your interests with our insider knowledge to create a truly unforgettable experience.
