Visit old hacienda with yellow city of Izamal and swim in the cenote

We’ll start the day at Hacienda Aké, an old henequen estate where you can see how the “green gold” of Yucatán was once made. Then we’ll head to Izamal — the famous Yellow City. Almost every building here is painted a warm shade of yellow, and the whole town has a calm, timeless feel.

We’ll visit the convent, walk through the streets and climb the Pyramid of Kinich Kakmó for a great view over the rooftops. Lunch will be at a local spot where you can try classic Yucatecan dishes.

To finish the day, we’ll cool off in a nearby cenote before heading back to Mérida. A relaxed day of history, color, and good food.
