Private Celestún Wildlife Experience

Celestún is one of Yucatán's most important protected natural areas and a great destination for anyone who enjoys wildlife, nature and a slower pace of travel. While the reserve is best known for its flamingos, it is home to more than 300 bird species and one of the largest mangrove ecosystems on the peninsula, making it worth visiting throughout the year.

This experience combines the highlights of the biosphere reserve with the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional fishing village. After exploring the reserve, we visit our favourite local fishermen's restaurant, where seafood is often caught the very same day. While having a lunch and spending some time by the Gulf of Mexico, we share stories about the local community, its traditions and everyday life before returning to Mérida.
